Specialty crop farms in the U.S. face a constant challenge: maintaining productivity while managing labor shortages, rising operating costs, and frequent fieldwork. Orchards, vineyards, and greenhouse operations require consistent spraying, precise coverage, and equipment that can work efficiently in tight or complex environments.
The XAG R100 and R200 Agricultural Rovers, available through XAG Agrifuture, are fully electric ground robots designed to automate spraying and routine field operations. They help growers reduce manual workload, improve application consistency, and make daily farm tasks more predictable.
Built for Specialty Crop Operations
Unlike large row-crop machinery, specialty farming requires compact, maneuverable equipment that can work between dense rows without damaging plants or compacting soil. The XAG R Series is built for these conditions, combining precision spraying, smart navigation, and reliable field performance.
XAG R100 is designed for greenhouses and densely planted crops:
- 31.7-gallon tank
- compact 31.5-inch width
- 4WD system
- dual JetSprayers delivering up to 2.1 GPM
- up to 30 minutes of operation under full load

XAG R200 is built for orchards and vineyards with wider row spacing:
- 63.4-gallon tank
- 6WD drivetrain
- four JetSprayers
- extended spray coverage
- up to 15 minutes of operation under full load

Both models are designed to move efficiently through crop rows, reduce unnecessary passes, and help farms save time, labor, and inputs.
More Consistent Spraying with Better Input Control
The R Series uses XAG’s centrifugal JetSprayer technology to produce fine 60–200 micron droplets. This supports uniform coverage, reduced drift, and more efficient use of crop protection products.
With up to 23 feet of horizontal spray reach per side, the rovers can cover wider areas in fewer passes, which is especially useful in orchard and vineyard applications.
Stable Movement in Real Field Conditions
The R100 and R200 use an all-aluminum chassis with a suspended portal axle system for stable traction on uneven terrain. Their compact footprint helps reduce soil compaction and protect crops during operation.
A 20% maximum gradeability allows the rovers to work across slopes and varied field conditions, giving growers more flexibility during daily operations.
Smart Navigation and Safer Operation
The R Series includes autonomous functions that reduce operator workload:
- Cruise Mode for automated movement
- Path Tracking for precise route execution
- Repeat Mode for recurring tasks
The RealTerra mapping system captures field data during the first pass and builds a high-resolution map for future route planning. AI-based safety assistance detects obstacles and adjusts movement in real time.
Operators control the rover through the SRC 5 Smart Remote Controller, which combines touchscreen navigation, joystick control, and real-time FPV video. This allows the operator to stay outside the treated area while maintaining full visibility and control.
A Practical Step Toward Farm Automation
Beyond spraying, the XAG R Series can support additional farm tasks such as material transport, inter-row work, and custom field applications.
Through XAG Agrifuture, these solutions are delivered with a focus on practical adoption: helping U.S. growers reduce labor pressure, improve consistency, and bring automation into everyday specialty crop operations.
